reading

I really appreciate reading both for personal enjoyment but also as a means of educating myself. When given the chance to learn something new I typically lean into reading about it first and then dive into other mediums for further skill growth. Over the last few years in particular I've made an effort to carve out more time in my schedule to read and I've been incredibly thankful for that. This hobby helps me understand the world and myself better.

I have vivid memories of the very first book I learned how to read. It was one of those cardboard kids books with tabs on the side and each tab was a picture of the different pigs in the story This Little Piggy. I also remember spending a lot of time reading as a kid, especially when I was with my grandmothers. I tend to credit my love of reading to them in particular but generally I was very fortunate to have a lot of support and encouragement towards reading while growing up.
